Real Good For Free Joni Mitchell
intro: CGDGCD GFmaj7Em I slept last night in a good hotel AmCFC I went shopping today for jewels GFmaj7Em The wind rushed around in the dirty town AmCFC And the children let out from the schools AmG I was standing on a noisy corner CGFCD Waiting for the walking green GFmaj7Em Across the street he stood, and he played real good AmCFC On his clarinet for free
GFmaj7Em Now me, I play for fortunes AmCFC And the velvet curtain calls GFmaj7Em I got a black limosine and a few gentlemen AmCFC Escorting me to these halls AmG And I'll play if you have the money CGFCD Or if you're a friend to me GFmaj7Em But the one-man-band by the quick lunch stand AmCFC (EmD) He was playing real good for free
GFmaj7Em Nobody stopped to hear him AmCFC Though he played so sweet and high GFmaj7Em They knew he had never been on their TV AmCFC So they passed his good music by AmG I meant to go over and ask for a song CGFCD Maybe put on a harmony GFmaj7Em I heard his refrain as that signal changed AmCFC (EmD) He was still playing real good for free
