Joni Mitchell (nacida como Roberta Joan Anderson el 7 de noviembre de 1943, en Alberta) es una músico y pintora canadiense. Comenzó su carrera musical en Toronto y en el oeste de Canadá, relacionándose posteriormente con la floreciente escena de folk de Nueva York de mediados de los sesenta. A lo largo de los años 70 amplió sus horizontes musicales, dirigiendo en especial su interés hacia el pop y el jazz, para convertirse en una de las cantantes y compositoras más respetadas de finales del siglo XX.
