John Denver (Roswell, Nuevo México, 31 de diciembre de 1943 - Pacific Grove, California, 12 de octubre de 1997), nacido como Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr. en Roswell, Nuevo México. Murió con 53 años de edad en la costa de Monterey, California cuando pilotaba un Rutan Long-EZ, un avión experimental de fibra de vidrio. Fue tal vez el principal exponente de la música country de EEUU. Dedicó su vida a cantarle a la naturaleza, las relaciones y los valores humanos y a la preservacion de la vida.
