Good Charlotte es una banda de pop punk, formada en 1995, fundada por los hermanos gemelos Madden. Toman el nombre del título de un libro infantil de Carol Beach York: "Good Charlotte: The Girls Of Good Day Orphanage".
Joel y Benji Madden crecieron en Waldorf, Maryland. En 1995, cuando los hermanos Madden tenían 16 años, fueron a un concierto de Beastie Boys, y tras ello, aunque no sabían tocar ningún instrumento, decidieron formar una banda.
