Biografía:
Godsmack es una banda de Hard Rock/Heavy Metal formada en 1995 y originaria de Boston, Massachusetts (Estados Unidos).
El nombre de la banda, tal y como comenta Merrill en el dvd Smack This!, fue tomado de la canción "God Smack" de Alice in Chains. Aún así, el vocalista de Godsmack, Sully Erna, matizó el origen real del nombre:
"Sucedió en un ensayo cuando nuestro baterista llegó con herpes. Me burle de él durante todo el día debido a que teníamos una sesión fotográfica un día después.
