El músico country, George Strait, nació en 1952 en Texas. Empezó su carrera en un grupo de rock’n’roll, pero se alistó en el ejercito en 1971. Cuando estaba destinado en Hawai, empezó a tocar música country con el grupo Rambling Country, patrocinado por el ejercito. En 1975, cuando regresó a Tejas formó su propia banda, Ace in the Hole. Empezó en solitario en 1980, y su single de debut, “Unwound”, subió directamente al Top Ten.
