Walter Elias Disney (1901-1966), dibujante, productor, y director de dibujos animados nacido en Chicago, Estados Unidos, el 5 de diciembre de 1901.
Abandonó la escuela a los 16 años; después estudió durante breves periodos, en escuelas de arte en su ciudad natal y en Kansas City, Missouri. En 1923 comenzó a producir dibujos animados en Hollywood, asociado con su hermano Roy O. Disney. De 1926 a 1928 hizo una serie de dibujos, Oswaldo el conejo, para Universal Pictures.
