Firehouse firmó con la discográfica Epic en 1988 y con el tema "Home Is Where The Heart Is" tuvieron un éxito en su localidad. Dos años más tarde, el grupo sacó su primer disco "Firehouse" , lanzando como primer single la canción "Shake &Tumble". Con C.J. Snare, Michael Foster, Bill Leverty y Perry Richardson el hard rock melódico del grupo alcanzó inmediatamente la fama.
En 1991 Firehouse ganó la posición de Mejor Nueva Banda Hard Rock/Metal en los American Music Awards.
