------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In The Ghetto - Elvis Presley ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Capo 1

[Verse 2] AD/AAD/A Well, the world turns. C#m And a hungry little boy with a runny nose DE plays in the street as the cold wind blows AD/AAD/A in the ghetto. AD/AAD/A And his hunger burns, C#m so he starts to roam the streets at night DE and he learns how to steal and he learns how to fight AD/AAD/A in the ghetto.
[Chorus] E Then one night in desperation DA the young man breaks away. DC#m He buys a gun, steals a car, BmE tries to run, but he don't get far,
[Verse 3] AD/AAD/A and his mama cries. C#m As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man, DE face down in the street with a gun in his hand, AD/AAD/A in the ghetto. AD/AAD/A And as her young man dies, C#m on a cold and grey Chicago mornin', DE another little baby child is born AD/AAD/A in the ghetto. AD/AAD/A And his mama cries...
