Biografía:
Aliuane Badara Thiam (pronunciado /'e?k?n/) es un cantante senegalés y Wolof de hip hop y R&B, compositor, y en ocasiones rapero y productor musical. Nació el 30 de abril de 1973, en Dakar, Senegal. Screw fundador de Block Royal descubrio a Akon en la carcel, saltó a la fama en 2004 con el single "Locked Up" de su primer álbum Trouble. En su segundo disco, Konvicted, se incluía el single "Smack my akon", por el que fue nominado a los Grammy.
