Chris Daughtry fue finalista del concurso de talentos norteamericano "American Idol". Tras salir del programa, se concentró en armar una banda -Daughtry- y comenzar a grabar su primer disco, que se acerca al estilo de bandas como Nickelback y Fuel. El CD incluye dos temas que han llegado al top 5 del billboard norteamericano -"It's Not Over" y "Home"- además de "What I Want", un éxito rock donde colabora el legendario guitarrista Slash. "Daughtry" ha sido el único disco debut de un concursante de "AI" que contiene dos top 5
