Charles Milles Manson (nacido el 12 de noviembre de 1934), fue el fundador de "La Familia", un grupo que perpetró varios asesinatos, entre ellos, el macabro asesinato de Sharon Tate y sus invitados en 1969.
En 1951, tras una serie de arrestos y fugas, Charles Manson fue enviado a prisión por conducir un vehículo robado. Al final de 1952 había ocho cargos contra él. Fue transferido a otra prisión y liberado en 1954 por buen comportamiento. Volvió a ser arrestado más tarde por robo de vehículos.
