[Capo on 1st fret]
GCGC G Stood there boldly sweatin' in the sun C Felt like a million, felt like number one FC The height of summer, I'd never felt that strong G Like a rock.
G I was eighteen, didn't have a care C Workin' for peanuts, not a dime to spare FC But I was lean and solid everywhere G Like a rock.
G My hands were steady, my eyes were clear and bright C My walk had purpose, my steps were quick and light FC And I held firm to what I felt was right G Like a rock.
G Like a rock - I was strong as I could be C Like a rock - nothin' ever got to me FC Like a rock - I was something to see G Like a rock.
Em And I stood arrow straight, unencumbered by the weight G Of all these hustlers and their schemes C I stood proud, I stood tall, high above it all AmD I still believed in my dreams.
[SOLO]
G Twenty years now, where'd they go C Twenty years - I don't know FCG I sit and I wonder sometimes where they've gone
GC And sometimes late at night - oh when I'm bathed in the firelight FC The moon comes callin' a ghostly white
And I recall, I recall.
G Like a rock - standin' arrow straight C Like a rock - chargin' from the gate FC Like a rock - carryin' the weight G Like a rock. G Like a rock - the sun upon my skin C Like a rock - hard against the wind FC Like a rock - I see myself again G Like a rock,
