Ash es una banda proveniente de la ciudad de Downpatrick en Irlanda del Norte, fué formada en 1992 por Mark Hamilton (bajo) y Tim Wheller (vocal y guitarra). Después de encontrar el amor por la música y el rock, cuando ambos tuvieron una guitarra y empezaron a tocar covers, según Timle salían mal. Después de escuchar Twisted Sister y Iron Maiden, ellos formaron una banda al principio de los 90', con un par de amigos del colegio, llamada Vietnam.
