Biografía:
Apoptygma Berzerk se creó en Noruega el 1989 por Stefan Groth junto a Jon Erik Martisen, cuya música estaba clasificada dentro del género de la EBM, y claramente influenciada por Front 242 y Nitzer EBB. Poco después editaron un par de maquetas e iniciaron un primer contacto con Tatra Records, que editó el maxi-single "Ashes to Ashes" en 1991.
A principios de 1993 editaron el EP "The Seconds Manifesto", y telonearon a Nitzer Ebb, Young Gods y Die Krupps.
