*Capo 1
Intro: | A | C#m | D | E | E
Vs.1 AC#m It's her first night on the town, since she was just 18. DE A lady down on love, and out of hopes and dreams. AC#m The ties that once bound her, now are broke away away. DEA And she's just like a baby, learning how to play.
Vs.2 She never thought that love, could ever end so soon. Her mind drifts back in time, to a mid-summer moon. When he ask her to marry, and she gladly said OK. And a woman came to be, from the girl of yesterday.
Chorus: AC#mDA Now she's a lady, down on love. AC#mDA She needs somebody, to gently pick her up. F#mC#mDA She's got her freedom, but she'd rather be bound. DEA To a man who would love her, and never let her down.
*No Capo *You can change the key other ways, this is just easiest for me.
Bridge: CEm Well I know the lady, that's down on her love. FG Cause I used to hold her, and have that special touch. CEm But work took me away, from home late at night. FG And I wasn't there, when she turned out the lights. CEm Then both of us got lonely, and I gave into lust. FGC And she just couldn't live, with a man she couldn't trust.
Chorus: CEmFC Now she's a lady, down on love. CEmFC She needs somebody, to gently pick her up. AmEmFC She's got her freedom, but she'd rather be bound. FGC To a man who would love her, and never let her down.
Outro: CEmFC | C | Em | F | C | Now she's a lady.... Down on love.
