DA When you were born you were not alone
G Nothing was carved into the stone quite yet, but don't forget
DAD You heard someone say it won't get better than this
DA That was the sound of your father
AG As he held you up to your mother
G No one will ever know,
DAD a love a pure as the one that you felt right then
DAEm They held you up, they held you up
DA And everybody else they fell to the wayside
D This is the start the beginning
A The prologue to the tale that you're spinning
EmDA a million synonyms will never come close to describe the feeling
GGGDDDAAA Don't ever leave, cause if you do dear
BmG I guarantee that you'll regret the day you did
D and you'll miss all the simple things
A And you'll see everything you've ever loved
Bm start fading till there's nothing left oh
Chorus:
BmDAGBm And I believe that every broken bone is meant to be
BmDA And when it heals it will be stronger than it was before
BmDAGBm And I see, the things that I pretend that I don't see
BmDA And I keep them in my head love
If only for memories
Interlude -x4-: ADAD
DA So now you're young and you feel alone
G Despite friends family and all the good things now surrounding you
DAD You can't help thinking that there's gotta be some more to do
DA When all the things that you cherish
AG Turn into burdens and there is
G No other path to take,
DAD you know what you've got to do but you don't know how
DAEm They hold you back they hold you down
DA And you're gonna feel bad but you know that you've gotta get out
D This is your pain your dilemma
A Do you stay in the town where they raised ya
EmDA Or will you sail away, pull the anchor and go headed for the come-what-may?
GGGDDDAAA You have to leave, cause if you don't dear
BmG you'll never see the things you read about in books
D you saw the films and you were Hooked
A but everything you want won't come to you
Bm you realize now that you've gotta go see this through
Chorus:
BmDAGBm And I believe that every broken bone is meant to be
BmDA And when it heals it will be stronger than it was before
BmDAGBm And I see, the things that I pretend that I don't see
BmDA And I keep them in my head love
If only for memories

GDGbBm -x3-
FCE
DA So now you're old raising your own
G Two souls to make yourself a home, you finally settled down
DAD you've seen the world but your heart never left this town
DA They have the eyes of their mother
AG The kind of crooked teeth of their father
G No one will ever know
DAD a love as pure as the one that you feel for them
DAEm You'll hold them up you'll hold them up
DA And everybody else will fall to the wayside
D There is no end no beginning
A On this merry-go-round we call living
EmDA Some day you will return, every single ounce of the love you were given
GGGDDDAAA Someday they'll go, and when they leave home
BmG you will be grateful for the lesson that you learned
D you had to travel half the world
A to realize what you knew all along
Bm that everything will end up where it belongs
Chorus:
BmDAGBm And I believe that every broken bone is meant to be
BmDA And when it heals it will be stronger than it was before
BmDAGBm And I see, the things that I pretend that I don't see
BmDA And I keep them in my head love
