Trevor Hall nació el 28 de noviembre de 1986, es originario de Hilton Head, Carolina del Sur [2], donde residió hasta que tuvo 16 años de edad. Sus padres, Jeff y Wendy, todavía viven en Carolina del Sur.
Él tiene una hermana menor llamada Chloe. Comenzó a escribir y a realizar actuaciones cuando tenía alrededor de 11 años de edad, al mismo tiempo que consiguió su primera guitarra. Su introducción a la música fué debido a la batería de su padre y la armónica que éste le regaló a la edad de 11.
