The Stone Roses es una banda originaria de Mánchester, Reino Unido, la más representativa del movimiento Madchester de finales de los '80. Es uno de los grupos que más influyó a bandas de la escena Britpop en los '90.
Su música se caracteriza por tener atractivas melodías 'beatlescas' combinadas al sonido dance beat de la época. Con apenas un par de singles obtuvieron una aureola de culto y la prensa especializada los trató con reverencia.
