Temple of the Dog, a pesar de haber publicado sólo un álbum, es una de las bandas más representativas del movimiento grunge de principios de los noventa.
Temple of the Dog fue creada por Chris Cornell, como tributo al vocalista de Mother Love Bone, Andrew Wood, fallecido por una sobredosis de estupefacientes.
La banda estuvo conformada por los anteriores miembros de Mother Love Bone, el guitarrista Stone Gossard y el bajista Jeff Ament,sumados al cantante Chris Cornell
