Biografía:

Hijo de Richard y Linda Thompson, dos clásicos del folk británico, empezó a tocar la guitarra a los 10 años. Vivió con sus padres en una comuna Sufi cuando éstos se convirtieron al Islam. Ni la comuna ni el matrimonio de sus padres duraron demasiado, así que Teddy se quedó en Londres con su madre durante un tiempo. Fue músico de acompañamiento de la banda de su padre, época en la que se instaló en Los Angeles. Allí conoció a Rufus Wainwright, un 'alma gemela' que rápidamente ganó la carrera del éxito.
