Song title: When The River Original Album: Sondre Lerche
NOTES: A couple of updates to the chorus chords. Enjoy!
Tuning is one tone below standard: DGCFAD, as seem to be all the songs I've transcribed from this album. PLEASE NOTE THAT chords below are ACTUAL chords. Hence, a voicing may be e.g. 022100, but the sound you'll make is a D-chord. If that's what I heard, that is what I would call it.
I've included chord voicings and notes in each section of the song as some chords are unusual. The CHORUS chords are predominately jazz voicings, which look fierce, but with practice can be nailed.
DGD Take my hands, they're all I've got F#m7BmGmaj7Gm(maj7)add6 I ain't got no nothing to prove but I forgot DGD Take my heart I'll wear it out Gm7/FDE7 The friends I make here all come at extra cost A7 What say we just get lost
CHORUS: Notes: The first four chords are jazz voicings. These are not barréd, in case you were wondering... I've indicated the fingers to use for each of these chords, which may help. It will still take practice to nail the transitions, though. But it's worth it...!
Chorus Chords: D6b5 9x899x (2,1,3,4) G x77655 E7-5 8x897x (3,2,4,1) C7/E 20021x F#m7 7x687x (2,1,3,4) D 022100 Ddim 6x5650 (3,2,4,1)
D6b5 E7-5F#m7Ddim Just around the bend and back again GC7/ED Just another place to leave without a trace D6b5 E7-5F#m7Ddim Just another mile down a dead-end drain GC7/ED When the river turns I'll come down with the rain
DGD Take my hand and twist my arms F#m7BmGmaj7Gm(maj7)add6 I ain't got it in me to set off bells and alarms DGD Tell my mother I'm not coming home Gm7/FDE7 Been all for nothing, baby, for all too long A7 What say we right this wrong?
CHORUS: Chords: D6b5 9x899x (2,1,3,4) G x77655 E7-5 8x897x (3,2,4,1) C7/E 20021x F#m7 7x687x (2,1,3,4) D 022100 Ddim 6x5650 (3,2,4,1)
