Sixpence None the Richer es el nombre de una banda de pop-rock y Dream pop. Son originarios del estado de Texas, Estados Unidos. Empezó a cobrar forma a principios de los 90's, cuando el guitarrista Matt Slocum conoció a la cantante Leigh Nash en un retiro de iglesia. Inicialmente el trío se completó con la incorporación del bajista T.J. Behling. El grupo grabó un demo en 1993 que les llevó a firmar con la casa de discos R.E.X. Su primer LP, "The Fatherless & the Widow" , apareció poco tiempo después.
