El quinteto comenzó cuando Pierre Bouvier y Chuck Comeau formaron Reset a los 13 años. Este grupo tuvo un éxito bastante modesto en Canadá, donde salían de tour con bandas como MxPx, Ten Foot Pole,y Face to Face. El primero en abandonar Reset fue Chuck, ya que quería enfocarse en sus estudios. Pierre contactó a otras personas para seguir con Reset, pero el grupo fue en declive.
Al poco tiempo Chuck se dio cuenta de que cometió un error muy grande al dejar la música y contactó a amigos del colegio: Sébastien Lefebvre y Jeff Stinco.
