================= Ryan Adams "Petal In A Rainstorm" (AKA "Oh My Sweet Valentine") tab Heartbreaker (2015 Reissue) tablature by Todd Anstis ([email protected]) ================= Standard tuning, no capo
Most of this song (the intro and the verses) is this open A chord with the hammer-ons at the 3 & 4th fret, then slide that shape up to the 5th and 6th fret. Similar to what Keith Richards does on Brown Sugar (and a million other songs), or the ending to Brian May's solo in We Will Rock You. Regrettably, I don't know enough music theory yet to name those couple of chords but you get the idea. Honestly it was something that just hit me when I was driving around one day.
Pretty short and simple song but so great. One of my all time DRA favorites, and it's a real tragedy that it wasn't on the original record IMO.
