Hold On Partner
Recorded by Roy Rogers (King of the Cowboys) and Clint Black
Written by Bobby Paine and Larson Paine
A 1991 chart hit, #42 USA and #48 in CAN, for Roy and Clint. This
put Roy 'back' in the saddle (recording wise) one more time before
he sadly passed away a few years later.
Born: November 5, 1911 ? Died: July 6, 1998
He was a genuinely 'nice' man, and a true hero/star to MILLIONS.
He was a prolific singer and actor for many decades, besides all of his
charity work and working for adoption centers. He talked the talk, and
walked the walk.
*He truly was the silver screen's, 'King of the Cowboys!'*
Played in A (capo on 2nd fret) to play along with the splendid
youtube video. I play it in (transpose it to) C, sometimes G,
without a capo usually.
A
Well you've been trying to get ahead but you're losing ground
D
And you've been talkin' 'bout leavin' town
A E7
So hold on partner good things are comin' to you
A
Well you said it yourself you got a lot on the ball
D
And you'll bounce back each time you fall
A E7 A A7
Now hold on partner good things are comin' to you
D
Well it looks like you've been born to lose
A B7
And sometimes it feels that way oh but don't give up
E7
Tomorrow just might be your lucky day
A
So many people and things can get you down
D
But it only takes one man to turn it around
A E7
If you'll hold on partner good things are coming to you
A
It's an up and down world and you can't change it
D
Might get a chance to rearrange it
A E7 A A7
If you'll hold on partner good things are coming to you
D
Well it looks like you've been born to lose
A B7
And sometimes it feels that way oh but don't give up
E7
Tomorrow just might be your lucky day
A
Well it's one big race and we're all in it
D
You're falling behind but you still could win it
A E7 A D
If you'll hold on partner good things are coming to you
A E7 A
If you'll hold on partner good things are coming to you
end.
