Pinback es una banda indie rock de San Diego, California. La banda se formó en 1998, conformada por cantantes, compositores y multi intrumentalistas. Armistead Burwell Smith IV (conocido como Zach Smith) y Rob Crow, son sus integrantes. La banda tiene su origen, en cuando, la banda de Zach "Trhee Mile Pilot" se toma un largo parón, coincidiendo todo estos con una búsqueda por parte de Rob de nuevos experiencias musicales.
