Lagwagon son los reyes del punk rock melódico de nueva escuela, al que también llaman hardcore melódico. Este grupo de Santa Barbara se formó en 1990 y un año después ya estaban haciendo giras por su país. En un principio, empezaron llamándose SECTION 8, pero buscaban un nombre más original y después de un montón de ideas sobre posibles nombres, eligieron finalmente el de Lagwagon.
Su primer disco, llamado “Duh”, fue grabado en enero de 1992 con nuevo bajista y un nuevo guitarrista.
