Biografía:
Key Starr (Katherine LaVerne Starks) nació en Dougherty Oklahoma en 1922, se inicia en el mundo artístico al ganar un concurso de talento a la edad de siete años en Dallas. Posteriormente contratada por el director y violinista Joe Venuti (1937) tuvo dos breves temporadas con las orquestas de Bob Crosby y Glenn Miller. En 1945 pierde la voz debido a una neumonía, tras su recuperación logra su primer éxito como solista con "Bonaparte´s Retreat"
