Joe Strummer, o John Graham Mellor (Agosto 21, 1952 – Diciembre 22, 2002), fue el líder, co-fundador, compositor, cantante y guitarrista rítmico de la banda británica The Clash.
De joven mostró un interes por la música, especialmente por el Rock and Roll, escuchando discos de Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Beach Boys y al cantante de folk americano Woody Guthrie, del cual tomó su apodo de "Woddy Mellor", que se mantendría hasta un año y medio antes de la formación de The Clash
