La música de Islands es como un suave palpitar de épica contenida. Con un ideario estilístico en la línea del nuevo rock multiinstrumental (Guillemots), las bandas del Elephant 6 o clásicos del soft-pop como Penguin Cafe Orchestra y Paul Simon -de hecho nacieron como sarcástica banda homenaje al autor de ?Graceland?-, emergían en 2005 de las cenizas de los geniales The Unicorns. Como si rindieran tributo al mejor pop de hoy y siempre, Islands suenan más limpios y pulcros que su grupo madre
