Inspiral Carpets es un grupo de indie británico formado en Oldham (Inglaterra) en el año 1986 por Graham Lambert, convirtiéndose, tras The Stone Roses y Happy Mondays, en el grupo más popular de la escena bautizada como Madchester. Su sonido está basado en el órgano entre melódico y psicodélico de Clint Boon, y en las guitarras propias del sonido garage, además de un sonido de bajo muy apreciable..., mientras que su nombre psicodélicamente had-hoc al tema de su revival de los 60's, fue debido a una tienda de alfombras cerca de Oldham.
