A Hugo le apuntaron al casting sin que él lo supiera, así
que todo le llegó un poco de sorpresa. En las pruebas de selección aprovechó para disfrutar al máximo cada momento.
Durante su estancia en la Academia, Hugo trabajó a conciencia para potenciar su voz y forjarse un estilo propio sobre el escenario. Su esfuerzo se vio recompensado con un merecido quinto puesto en la final del programa.
