Guided by Voices es una banda de rock formada en Dayton, Ohio en 1983. La alineación de la banda fue cambiando durante los años siendo Robert Pollard su único miembro constante. Aunque la formación más popular y estimada por los fanáticos y la crítica es la del período 1992-96, mejor conocida como la alineación clásica de GBV. Dicha formación es también la actual: Robert Pollard (vocalista), Tobin Sprout (guitarra, vocales), Mitch Mitchell (guitarra), Greg Demos (bajo) y Kevin Fennell (batería).
