Am One day a friend took me aside Dm and said, "I have to leave you. Am For buying something from a friend EmE7 They say I have done wrong. Am For protecting the name of a man Dm7 they say I'll have to leave you. AmEmDm7Am So now I'm bidding you farewell for much too long.
AmDm7 And here's a song to sing for every man inside. AmEmE7 If he can hear you sing it's an open door. AmDm7 There's not a rich man there who couldn't pay his way AmEmDm7Am and buy the freedom, that's a high price for the poor.
Am(9) Dm7(6) Am(9) EmE7 Kids in Texas, smoking grass, ten year sentence, comes to pass. Am(9) Dm7(6) Am(9) EmE7 Misdemeanor in Ann Arbor, ask the judges why?
