Su nombre procede de una canción psicodélica (lo tomaron prestado de un tema de Syd Barrett), y dice mucho acerca de sus intenciones iniciales, pero lo suyo siempre ha sido el pop de guitarras de alto octanaje y dotado de una capacidad melódica a la que muy pocos grupos se han podido acercar jamás. Los Gigolo Aunts pertenecen a la escena pop de Boston -que ha alumbrado a bandas tan esenciales como los Pixies o los Lemonheads- y son compañeros de generación de grupos como Teenage Fanclub
