Jamesetta Hawkins (Los Ángeles, 25 de enero de 1938 - 20 de enero de 2012), Etta James, cantante estadounidense de soul y rhythm and blues. Vocalista de vida extraordinariamente problemática, su presencia ha sido, no obstante, permanente a lo largo de los últimos cincuenta años, percibiéndose únicamente una profundización en su voz, que aunque ha ganado en rudeza no ha perdido la capacidad de siempre de expresar el dolor y la pasión.
