Si existe una base musical que haya servido de inspiración a toda la oleada del Hardcore Punk del momento sin duda son los Descendents; con más de 20 años de vida han sabido combinar una serie de sonidos que rozan el límite entre el pop y el punk y han sido coronados como los reyes en este estilo, posteriormente imitado pero nunca superado hasta el momento por nombres que han sacado una tajada económicamente más rentable en un par de años que los propios Descendents en toda su carrera.
