This is Dan Andriano’s ‘From This Oil Can’, the 10th track from his album;
‘Hurricane Season’. The song is more simple than it sounds, but Dan plays a couple
of embellishments on the C chord which sound confusing, these are basically going
to be a few hammer-on’s and a few hammer-off’s on the B and high E strings. I’m
sure you can work those out for yourself. Capo 3. Enjoy!
Thanks to 'squihypluto' for providing these embellishments:
E|--0--0--3--3--
B|--1--3--1--0--
G|--0--0--0--0--
D|--2--2--2--2--
A|--3--3--3--3--
E|--0--0--0--0--
Intro: C Am F (Repeat x2)
C F
See a long time ago I didn't care so much
Am
Kinda hated myself so much,
F
I watched my head just fly away
C F
Out to a place where the sun doesn't shine so much
Am
But I loved my bed so much
F
Because while I'd sleep I'd seem okay
Interlude: Intro Chords x1
Intro Chords again:
C Am F
I'd almost seem okay...
Verse 2:
C F
Then I lost my life on the first try
Am
But you found it miles down the line,
F
A swollen face with all these names
C F
And then you kissed the taste back into my tongue
Am
Sucked the smoke out of my lung
F
And then we slept for days and days
Chorus:
C Em F
Now from this oil can
C Em F
Somehow, there grows an orchid
C Em F
Though your leaves were born in ashes
C Em F
They will die in the sunlight
(Intro Chords)

Verse 3:
C F
Well a long time ago I didn't care too much
Am
And I love to drink so much,
F
I let my heart just float away
C F
Out to a place where the songs they don't mean so much
Am
I could not feel your touch,
F
Could not feel anything but pain
Chorus:
C Em F
Now from this oil can
C Em F
Somehow, there grows an orchid
C Em F
Though your leaves were born in ashes

They will die in the sunlight
