Biografía:
"Chubby" Checker (1941), llamado chubby por su generosidad de carnes, es el rey del twist. Llevó al éxito masivo la composición de Hank Ballard "the twist" en 1960.
El baile que llevaba incorporado fue un auténtico fenómeno de masas, del que ninguna capa social se libró. Al año siguiente repetiría éxito con su "let´s twist again".
Si bien lo intentó repetir con otros bailes como el limbo o el hunckleback su estrella se apagaría pronto.
