Christopher Anton Rea, es un cantante y compositor inglés, nacido el 4 de marzo de 1951 en Middlesbrough, Inglaterra.
Desechado al comienzo de su carrera el nombre artístico "Benny Santini" (título de su primer disco), adoptó finalmente el conocidísimo nombre Chris Rea. Autor prolífico y libre, en diferentes momentos de su carrera distintas discográficas intentaron su contrato, pero la libertad de una pequeña compañía como en la que estaba componiendo, podía más que los posibles ingresos.
