Amparo Montes (born in Tuxtla Chico, Chiapas, México on 22 April 1925 - 13 January 2002) was a Mexican singer most famous for her interpretations of compositions of fellow countryman the famous composer Agustín Lara.
Montes made her début on radio in 1938 and soon converted into an outstanding interpreter of bolero style music. During her lifetime she recorded more than a hundred albums.
She presented "la cueva de Amparo Montes" (the cave of Amparo Montes) for more than 20 years supported by the shows producer Alex Cardini Jr.
