Electric Light Orchestra is a symphonic rock band which formed in Birmingham, England in 1970. The band was formed by Jeff Lynne (vocals, guitar, multiple instruments), Roy Wood (multiple instruments, vocals), Richard Tandy (keyboards, vocals) and Bev Bevan (drums). Lynne, Wood and Bevan were former members of the psychedelic rock band The Move. The band's lineup would fluctuate throughout its original incarnation, although Lynne, Tandy and Bevan would remain constant members.

{First released on the band's fourth album, Eldorado, in July of 1974. The song is the track on the album coming after "Eldorado Overture", and was released in November of that year as a single. The song became the band's first top ten single in the US and Helped boost the Americans public awareness of them, However, back in the UK the single and LP to Chart. In 1978 the song was included on the four track ELO EP (UK release) reaching on the UK charts. The song has appeared on many compilation albums.}
