[Verse 1] (start with a Bm before Ed starts singing.)
D Things were all good yesterday, G Then the devil took your memory, G And if you fell to your death today, Bm I hope heaven is your resting place, D I heard the doctors put your chest in pain, G But then that could've been the medicine, A And now you're lying in the bed again, G Either way I'll cry with the rest of them,
[Pre-Chorus] DBm My father told me son, GDBmG It's not his fault he doesn't know your face, DBmG And you're not the only one, DA Although my grandma used to say, he used to say,
[Chorus] BmGEm Darling hold me in your arms like you did last night, A And we'll lie inside, a little while he wrote, BmGEm I could look into your eyes until the sun comes up, A And we're wrapped in light, in life, in love, BmGEm Put your open lips on mine and slowly let them shut, A For they're designed to be together, oh, BmGEm With your body next to mine our hearts will beat as one, A And we're set alight, we're afire love, oh,
[Verse 2] (start the verse off with a Bm again)
D Things were all good yesterday, G Then the devil took your breathe away, G And now we're left here in pain, Bm Black suit, black tie, standing in the rain, D And now my family is one again, G Stapled together with the strangers and the friend, A Came to my mind I should paint it with a pen, G Six years I remember when,
[Pre-Chorus] DBm My father told me son, GDBmG It's not his fault he doesn't know your face, DBmG And you're not the only one, DA Although my grandma used to say, he used to say,
[Chorus] BmGEm Darling hold me in your arms like you did last night, A And we'll lie inside, a little while he wrote, BmGEm I could look into your eyes until the sun comes up, A And we're wrapped in light, in life, in love, BmGEm Put your open lips on mine and slowly let them shut, A For they're designed to be together, oh, BmGEm With your body next to mine our hearts will beat as one, A And we're set alight, we're afire love, oh,
