Death Cab for Cutie is an American indie rock band formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997. The band consists of Ben Gibbard (vocals, guitar, piano), Nicholas Harmer (bass), Jason McGerr (drums), Dave Depper (guitar) and Zac Rae (keyboards).
Death Cab began as a solo project of Ben Gibbard, now the band's vocalist and guitarist. Gibbard took the band name from the satirical song Death Cab for Cutie, performed by The Bonzo Dog Band in The Beatles' 1967 experimental film Magical Mystery Tour.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
The other chords tab for this song is incredibly wrong, even with the key change it attempts.
This tab is in C, which is what Death Cab plays it in, but you can move it up or down with a capo if you desire. Ben plays a lot of his acoustic songs in E (capo 4). It sounds nice in E if you are trying for a sound like his. Also, feel free to use different variations of the chords; it all sounds fine.
If you want to try and match the strumming pattern on the record, just listen and the chords fit, but if you are playing solo acoustic I would recommend just sticking with a basic pattern, it sounds smoother than the rhythm guitar on the record.
