Verse 1:
D# Now that it's all said and done, A#C I can't believe you were the one A#G# To build me up and tear me down,
Like an old abandoned house. D# What you said when you left A# Just left me cold and out of breath. CA#F I fell too far, was in way too deep. G#A# Guess I let you get the best of me.
Chorus:
D# Well, I never saw it coming. D# I should've started running A# A long, long time ago. C And I never thought I'd doubt you, A# I'm better off without you G# More than you, more than you know. D# I'm slowly getting closure. D# I guess it's really over. A# I'm finally getting better. C And now I'm picking up the pieces. A# I'm spending all of these years G# Putting my heart back together. FG# 'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through, A# I got over you.
Verse 2:
D#A# You took a hammer to these walls, C Dragged the memories down the hall, A#G# Packed your bags and walked away.
There was nothing I could say. D#A# And when you slammed the front door shut, C A lot of others opened up, A#F So did my eyes so I could see G#A# That you never were the best for me.
