Damien Rice (born December 7, 1973) is an Irish singer-songwriter. He was born in Dublin, Ireland, to George and Maureen Rice and was raised in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. In March 1999 Damien moved to Tuscany, then travelled around Europe, busking the streets. He arrived back in Dublin a year later, with a clear head and full of ideas. Damien started playing and recording music with his first band, Juniper. After a few years he decided creatively it was not for him so he left the band (Newly named Bell X1) to start a solo career.

GmajG5/F#Em Explain to her your weakness so she understands
G6/add9 G5/F#G And then roll over and die
GmajG5/F#Em You can brave decisions
G6/add9 G5/F#G Before you crumble up inside
GmajG5/F#Em Spend your time asking everyone else's permission
G6/add9 G5/F#G And then run away and hide
[Chorus]
GmajG5/F#Em You can sit on chimneys
G6/add9 G5/F#G And put some fire up your ass
GmajG5/F#Em No need to know what you're doing or waiting for
G6/add9 G5/F#G But if anyone should ask?
GmajG5/F#Em Tell them I've been licking coconut skins
G6/add9 G5/F#G and we've been hanging out
GmajG5/F#Em Tell them God just dropped by to forgive our sins
G6/add9 G5/F#G And relieve us our doubt

[Verse]
You can hold her eggs But your basket has a hole You can lie between her legs And go lookin' for: Tell her you're searching for her soul!
You can wait for ages And watch your compost turn to coal But time is contagious: Everybody's getting old.
[Chorus]
You can sit on chimneys And put some fire up your ass! No need to know What you're doing or looking for: But if anyone should ask? Tell them I've been cooking coconut skins And we've been hanging out! Tell them God just dropped by to forgive our sins And relieve us our doubt.
