Courtney Barnett is an Australian singer/songwriter originally from Sydney, New South Wales; later moving to Hobart, Tasmania[/placeform] where she began performing music in 2006 before relocating to Melbourne in 2010.
Barnett puts a lot of effort into sounding effortless. Her songs are wild and wooly and wordy, her lyrics plainspoken and delivered like she’s making them up on the spot.
Barnett was originally a part of several bands, including Immigrant Union and The Olivettes before focusing on her solo work.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

[Pre-Verse 1] AGDA x2
[Verse 1]
AG Jen insists that we buy organic vegetables DA And I must admit that I was a little skeptical at first GD A little pesticide can't hurt AGD Never having too much money, I get the cheap stuff at the supermarket A But they're all pumped up with the shit GD A friend told me that they stick nicotine in the apples
[Chorus 1]
ABmC#mBm If you can't see me, I can't see you ABmF#mGC5 If you can't see me, I can't see you
[Verse 2]
AG Heading down the Highway Hume Somewhere at the end of June DA Taxidermied kangaroos are littered on the shoulders GD A possum Jackson Pollock is painted in the tar AG Sometimes I think a single sneeze could be the end of us D My hay-fever is turning up, just swerved into a passing truck A Big business overtaking G Without indicating D He passes on the right, been driving through the night To bring us the best price
[Chorus 2]
ABmC#mBm If you can't see me, I can't see you ABmF#mGC5 If you can't see me, I can't see you
[Verse 3]
More people die on the road than they do in the ocean A Maybe we should mull over culling cars instead of sharks GD Or just lock them up in parks where we can go and view them AG There's a bypass over Holbrook now D Paid for with burgers no doubt I've lost count of all the cows A There'll be no salad sandwiches GD The law of averages says we'll stop in the next town
Where petrol price is down...
What do I know anyhow?
[Chorus 3]
ABmC#mBm If you can't see me, I can't see you ABmF#mG If you can't see me, I can't see you ABmC#mBm If you can't see me, I can't see you ABmF#mGC5 If you can't see me, I can't see you
