Conway Twitty (1 September 1933 – 5 June 1993), born Harold Lloyd Jenkins, was one of the United States' most successful artists of the 20th century. Twitty had the most singles (55) reach Number 1 on various national music charts. Conway Twitty's across the board totals were greater than that of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, and Garth Brooks. Most notably known as a country music singer, Twitty also enjoyed success in early Rock and Roll, R&B, and Pop music (among other genres).

I May Never Get To Heaven
CG7 I walked with you and talked with you FG7C And held your loving hand FCAm We loved awhile and I lived awhile D7G7 And I thought that fate had it planned CG7C Then someone stole my angel FG7C And I lost what I loved most C7FG7CAm I may never get to heaven, DmG7C But I once came mighty close
FG7C I may never play a golden harp FG7C Or spread celestial wings C7FG7CAm Or walk a golden staircase D7G7 While a distant chorus sings.
CG7C But once I held your sweet love C7G7C And felt your tender touch C7FG7CAm I may never get to heaven, DmG7C But I didn't miss it much.
C7FG7CAm I may never get to heaven, DmG7C But I once came mighty close
