EA You said they laid out lots of coke AE But you don't know how much you did EA Now you don't want me to go home AB 'Cause you're afraid you might get sick BC#m It's like the bad news you accept C#mB Just like that boy you're gonna get BC#m It's all those drunken promises C#mABE I'll be you're friend, but you just haven't made me yet
EA So you come chasing after me AE But I'm just barely out the door EA Down in the belly of the beast AB We waited with the passing drugs BC#m Just like that train I gotta catch C#mB Just like that song I can't finish BC#m It's the mistake I won't regret C#mABE You'll be my friend, but I just haven't made you yet C#mABE You'll be my friend, but I just haven't made you
EA Now you talk when you're drunk like you're standing in front of a microphone EA And each night it repeats and you fall into me like a domino EA And you talk when you're drunk like you're writing out for an article EAB And you think that I lie when I tell you goodbye and I gotta go, 'cause I gotta go
G#mC#mAB But I guess it's a success, we're at our best when you're upset, oh C#mABE I'll be your friend, but you just haven't made me yet.
